Four products, four different kinds of hard.

Emergency triage, compliance across three platforms, German payroll and enterprise scheduling. Each one broke in a different place, so each one needed a different kind of thinking. All four are written up in full.

Tino 24/7 Veterinary care

A round-the-clock veterinary emergency platform, where the person on the other side is frightened and the clinician has seconds to judge how serious it is.

Problem
Owners describe symptoms, not severity. Clinicians needed to sort incoming cases fast without making owners feel dismissed.
Approach
A severity-first intake that asks the few questions that actually change triage order, and a queue that ranks by urgency rather than arrival time.
Outcome
Critical cases surface at the top of the queue instead of waiting their turn in the list.

DataGuard Compliance

A privacy and compliance platform used by more than 4,000 organisations, where several roles work on the same record and almost nobody should see all of it.

Problem
Compliance work is collaborative but access is restricted. Every screen had to answer "who can see and change this?" without a legal briefing.
Approach
A role-and-scope matrix behind the UI, surfaced as plain-language states (visible, read-only, restricted) instead of raw permission flags.
Outcome
One model that scaled across modules, so new features inherited access rules rather than reinventing them.

Taxmaro HR & payroll

An HR and payroll dashboard for German companies, a domain where a small interface ambiguity becomes a legal problem at the end of the month.

Problem
Payroll is unforgiving and periodic. Users needed to know what was still blocking a run, and what happened once they confirmed it.
Approach
A run-centred dashboard: exceptions first, totals always in view, and a confirmation step that states plainly what it will change.
Outcome
Month-end work became a checklist with a clear finish line rather than a search through records.

RoomReady Enterprise scheduling

Meeting-space booking across enterprise offices, where the real question is never "is this room free" but "where can six people actually meet at 14:00".

Problem
Room-by-room availability forces people to hunt. Double bookings and ghost holds made the calendar untrustworthy.
Approach
Inverted the model to a time-first grid: pick the slot, see every space that fits the group, with holds shown as provisional rather than booked.
Outcome
Booking became one decision instead of a sequence of checks across rooms.
